KAIRABA SHOPPING CENTRE at Kairaba Avenue, Pipe Line section is said to be the biggest supermarket in the country. The storey building with its two floors offering tempting international quality shopping experience is unique in The Gambia. It is well air- conditioned and creates a conducive shopping environment.

In addition it has a huge storeroom behind it where we receive all the containers for the shopping centre.

In the main entrance of the shopping centre, there are five modern electronic cash registers using bar code scanning and modern logistics software plus an office.

Starting from the entrance, you will see the fresh fruits and vegetables followed by the shelves for the drinks and juices, coolers for dairy products, frozen items and ice-cream. In the back of the showroom, you will find the cheese section as well as a frozen and fresh meat’s corner as well. We also have several sections of shelf alleys presenting different types of well assorted food and non food items such as tea, coffee, serials, sauces, pastas, tinned vegetables and fruits, biscuits and toffees, tissues, napkins, dog food and household items to name a few.

At the back corner is the area called “Kairaba Specialties”. This is an in-store bakery having fresh everyday ready baking products such as bread, croissants and all types of pastry and cakes. Our speciality is occasion cakes such as birthday cakes, wedding cakes, Christmas and New Year cakes produced and designed exclusively on customer´s demand. The area has an in-store café where shoppers can sit down, relax and enjoy their drinks, cakes or ice cream.

The first floor of the building is where we display exclusively non-food items such as furniture, toys, flowers, clothes, shoes, electrical and sport items and many more products.

Here we have a Western Union office where our customers receive all kinds of currencies from around the world.

We are going to run a new shopping centre which is currently under construction in an area named Sene-Gambia and will be opened during this year 2008. It will be a branch for Kairaba Shopping Centre in Pipe Line.

Furthermore we have a small mini-market located in Serrekunda, the main market area and another one in Banjul, the capital and business city.

The Emporium Shopping Center is owned by the Ahmed Diab Ghanim & Sons Limited who are textile merchants situated in Banjul, near the ports. The multi storey shopping center is a grand building selling all manner of quality household goods bought in from around the world.

The department store sells beds and bedroom suites, curtains, wardrobes, curtain rails, vases, home decorations from Europe and the Far East. There are several gift shops and boutiques on the ground floor.
